I. Project Content, Construction Scale and Site Selection: the normal water level of the reservoir is designed to be 217m with the total storage capacity of 285 million m3, and adjusted storage capacity of 218 million m3. The total length of the dam crest is about 514m and the height is of 222.5m. The maximum height is of 78.5m. The power house has been located around 7400m away at the downstream of the dam. Two sets of equipment have been mounted with the total installed capacity of 100MW and covering Fukou County and Songkou Town.
II. Project Construction Reasons and Conditions: along with the speeding progress of urbanization construction, the problem of insufficient water resource facing the city cluster located at the southern coast of the Minjiang River estuary has been more and more prominent. Based on this point, according to the requirements of the provincial Party committee and provincial government, the provincial water conservancy bureau deployed in November of 2011 in order to develop “Planning for Water Supply Project at the Minjiang River Estuary” and start to establish the water resource allocation (one gate and three lines) project at Pingtan county and Minjiang River Estuary of Fujian. It is required to give priority to the satisfaction of water supply demand in the comprehensive testing area of Pingtan County, and take into consideration the long-term water usage demand of various cities in an overall scale, including Changle, Fuqing, Langqi, and Fuzhou (southern harbor section). The water origins mainly from Dazhangxi and is supplemented by the main stream of Minjiang River.

V. Project Economic Benefit Analysis: Longxiang hydropower station is subject to the level II cascaded hydropower station developed by Fujian province on the basis of Dazhangxi. The dam is located on the midstream of Dazhangxi, which is 63km away from Yongtai County and controls the drainage area of 2120km2. The key project of Longxiang hydropower station is a water conservancy and hydropower project that has been mainly used for water supply and can provide comprehensive benefits. The normal water level is 217m; the respective storage capacity is 245 million m3; the checked flood level is 219.5m; respective storage capacity is 272.5 million m3; the dead water level is 197m, and respective storage capacity is 90 million m3; the installed capacity of the station is 93MW, and the average generating capacity for multiple years is 259.3 million kilowatt-hour.
